Businesses in the metals, mechanical engineering and related industries as well as in information technology and advanced manufacturing systems form the network of the Mechatronics Cluster in Lower Austria, which focuses on collaborative R&D in innovation and qualification projects and trend-scouting in one of the region’s core economic strengths. Core topics of the cluster’s activities are Energy Technologies, Additive manufacturing, Smart production, Economy 4.0 / Industry 4.0. As a cross-regional initiative between Lower Austria and Upper Austria and cross-sector network between the Mechatronics and the Plastics Cluster, the platform aims at strengthening native competencies and the region’s innovative potential with special focus on the needs of SMEs.
The Lower Austrian Plastics Cluster is part of the collaboration between cluster organisations in the three Austrian provinces Upper Austria, Salzburg and Lower Austria, building the largest platform of the plastics industry within Europe. Cluster partners profit from local services from their regional cluster management organisation while being part of a large, supra-regional network.
